Gas Oven/Range common problems
It does not work
No power
Make sure your range, oven or cook top is plugged in properly. Next, check for a tripped circuit breaker or a burned fuse. Good idea to check the wall socket with a voltmeter.
Burner does not work
In most cases the problem is a dirty or a clogged burner. Make sure the burner is clean.
If you have model does not have a pilot, it uses a spark igniter to ignite the gas. It works in a combination with a spark switch on the burner gas valve and a spark module. There is not easy to test which part of them is defective and better to contact a professional appliance repair.
It does not broil
Broil igniter
When the broil igniter is burned out, your oven will not broil. The broil igniter is usually located on the oven burner. If you can not see the igniter glow at all, it’s probably burned out. It needs to be replaced.
If the broil igniter glows red and not bright yellow, it is probably means it is too weak. A weak igniter needs to be replaced.
It does not bake

When the bake igniter becomes weak or burned out, your oven will not bake. The bake igniter is usually located on the oven burner. If you can not see the igniter glow at all, it’s probably burned out. It needs to be replaced.
If the bake igniter glows red and not bright yellow, it is probably means it is too weak. A weak igniter needs to be replaced.
