Washer tips

Never overload your washing machine

Always adjust the water level  based on the amount of clothes in the washer. Doing so directly increases the life of the washer motor.

Check all pockets before placing clothes in the washer, that can prevent from unexpected objects jamming or getting stuck within the washer.

Common problems

Does not work at all

• No power to the washer
  Make sure the washer is plugged in.  Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Next check the wall socket for regular power.  And check the power cord is connected to the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.
• Lid/door switch
  The washing machine may not function if the lid/door switch is defected. The switch is usually located near the door. Replace if found defective.

Does not fill with water at all

Replace water Inlet Valve if found defective.

Does not drain

• Lid/door switch assembly
  If the washer does not drain a very common issue is that the lid/door switch has malfunctioned. The lid/door switch can fail either mechanically or electrically and should be checked with an

  ohm meter for continuity. If the part has broken it  needs to be replaced.

• Drain pump or hose

  The next thing to check for is a clogged pump or hose.You can check if small clothing like baby clothing or socks get stucked into the drain system and clog the hose that leads to the pump. You can also check to see if there is a kink in the hose and check the functionality of the drain pump. When removing the hoses keep in mind that any water remaining in the washer will flow out when the hoses are removed. Therefore it is help to have towels prepared in case this happens.

• Water pump belt
  If there is no problems in the pump or hose, the next thing to check is the water pump belt. These belts wear out and tear up over time, and will need to be replaced if broken or showing excessive wear.
• Drive belt
  The next thing to check is the drive belt. If this belt is worn, broken, or not on the pulley system, the washer will possibly not drain at all.  If the belt has excessive wear or is broken it needs to be replaced.
• Coin trap
  If the washer is not draining and everything is functioning, the final thing to check is the coin trap. This device is located near the water pump and it catches any unexpected materials that make their way down the drain. This part often has an access panel and can be cleaned normally very easily.
